No. You can typically set an appointment the same week or the following week at the latest.
This will be determined by both you and your therapist. It is different for each person depending on your unique situation. The number of sessions you receive is unlimited.
Many of our therapists are pre-licensed therapists, meaning they are working under the supervision of licensed therapists. They have been carefully selected by our staff and receive on-going supervision and training as they complete their 3,000 hours of training that the State of California requires before they can sit for the rigorous state licensure exam. They are each trained in a wide range of psychological, relationship, emotional and assessment skills. We believe each of our therapists are warm, approachable, very skilled, and eager to work with you.
You will usually meet once a week with your therapist for 50 minute sessions. Therapy is a collaborative effort between you and your therapist and you will come up with goals to help you move through some of the difficulties you feel you are experiencing. You may find that the therapy process can bring up some uncomfortable feelings, but your therapist is there in a supportive capacity to help you process some of these feelings and facilitate your journey into new insights and developing new strategies for yourself and your relationships.
We do require that once your appointment is made and for all sessions scheduled thereafter, that you provide us with 24 hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment. Without this 24 hour notice, the full session fee will be charged. We do have to be strict about this policy since we have reserved the session time especially for you.
